Important information for passengers travelling from Hong Kong to the Chinese Mainland from 29 March
As part of their ongoing COVID-19 pandemic response, the Hong Kong SAR government will, from 29 March 2022, require all passengers aged three years and over travelling from Hong Kong to the Chinese Mainland to undergo a COVID-19 PCR test within eight hours of departure.
A dedicated, free-of-charge testing facility will be set up by the HKSAR government at Hong Kong International Airport. Passengers must pre-book and obtain their PCR test at this facility prior to check-in. Test slots can be booked up to one week in advance of travel, and passengers must book a test time at least five (and a maximum of eight) hours prior to their flight’s scheduled departure time.
For passengers travelling to Shanghai and Beijing, this test is required in addition to the COVID-19 test that is required by Chinese Mainland officials on arrival.
