Use passive status to price and store fares

Please be informed to use passive status to price PNR and store fares where appropriate.

We have identified it is common for travel agents to price PNR along with seat inventory selling at times of passenger fare enquiries. The PNRs are not concluded to issue ticket finally and lead to GDS booking fee and inventory wastage. It is recommended at all possible travel agents can use passive status code during PNR pricing and fare storage when no actual selling is required.

With passive status usage, travel agent’s cancellation ratio can be improved and will not result in agency delink-age unnecessarily. In the scenario where fare storage is not required, there is no need to perform PNR end transact function.
