GB Air Passenger Duty (APD) Exemption for young traveller

The UK Government has announced that the Air Passenger Duty (APD) (Tax code GB) will no longer be charged for young traveller aged 12-15 years on the travel date in Economy cabin, and departing from UK on or after 01 March 2016.

The changes to APD should have been updated in the system and reflected to travel agents at the time of pricing and ticketing, please refer your GDS helpdesk for respective entries.

If you have previously issued ticket without exempting it, you will be eligible to receive a refund.

 

Refund of Air Passenger Duty (GB tax)

The GB tax will be refunded in full to eligible customer holding Cathay Pacific (CX-160) tickets.

For tickets issued by travel agents worldwide and refunding the GB tax for eligible customers (160 ticket holders), the following options are available:

  • Issue BSP EMDS for a Refund of the GB tax at any time after the ticket is reissued.

    Or

  • Apply for a Refund of the GB tax after travel has completed via BSP Link online with proof of travel document to be submitted.
